One of Cambio's primary programs is the Tierra Norteña Wilderness Training, an annual four-day camping program along the mesas and canyons of the Mora River.  Through an interactive curriculum, participants study the ecosystem of one of the state’s cleanest rivers.  Horticulturalists, cultural historians, and activists introduce youth to the local flora and fauna, as well as the traditions of the indigenous folk who have farmed the land for generations.  Youth learn, too, about how the residents of these northern New Mexico communities have had to battle the incursions of polluters such as a hazardous waste dump.
